Privacy Notice:
We value your privacy and take every step to ensure that your information remains confidential. The statement below is a summary of the policies employed by Tranzit Group Ltd (TGL) and its subsidiaries for which we are included.

It has been prepared in accordance with our obligations and your rights in the Privacy Act 2020. We may change it from time to time.

Collecting you Information
Tranzurban does not collect private or personal information from this website, except where you willingly provide it. If you contact Tranzurban we may keep a record of that correspondence, such as job application forms. Tranzurban occasionally asks users to complete surveys that we use for research purposes. Wherever Tranzurban collects personal information we make an effort to include a link to this Privacy Policy on that page.

Close Circuit Television (CCTV) use 
Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), capturing both sound and footage, is used on board some of our buses and at our buildings. Signage indicates where CCTV equipment is operating. 

Use of Your Information

We use the footage obtained from the camera surveillance systems to:
• detect and capture evidence of crime or security and safety related matters 
• For investigating incidents, such as complaints, insurance and lost property
• comply with the contractual requirements of contracted parties i.e. regional councils, Auckland Transport, Ministry of Education.
Surveillance footage will only be viewed by authorised people in accordance with the purpose it was collected for or to ensure the system is operational. 
No attempt is made to identify individuals from footage except in relation to a reported or suspected incident requiring investigation.

Security
Tranzurban will keep the footage secure and protect it in accordance with good industry practice.

Information Sharing

In the event of some unlawful activity being recorded on our surveillance cameras, we may pass that footage of the incident over to Police for the purpose of an investigation. Likewise, if the Police believe some unlawful activity was carried out then they may view or ask us to hand over any footage that may assist in their investigation.

We may share any footage with our contracted parties, such as, Auckland Transport to enable them to:
• Investigate incidents
• Ensure ticket revenue is appropriately collected
• Audit compliance with our contract with them for services.
Retention of Your Information
Our buses retain footage for a minimum of 14 days and then it is will be overwritten. Footage which has been downloaded for an investigation will be retained until it has served its purpose and then for a further 100 days.

Use of Cookies
A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your internet browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. Tranzurban uses cookies solely for the purposes of enabling a more efficient navigation system while you are using our website. We do not use this cookie to collect information about the user.

Sharing of information
Tranzurban will not share personal information collected with third parties other than those required in the provision of the services and products purchased by the customer or as required by New Zealand law. Third parties involved in the delivery of the services and products purchased by the customer will use that customers personal information, as supplied by Tranzurban solely for the purposes of delivering the services or products purchased. 

Tranzurban does not and will not rent or sell your personal information.

Correcting Information
A customer may, at any stage request Tranzurban alter, update or delete personal information at any stage by corresponding with Tranzurban using the above listed contact details.
Protecting my personal information?
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, unless it is processed through a Secure Credit Card System. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, Tranzurban cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us via email, request a call back facility or quote request form. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.

Social Media
Our websites may include social media features (such as the Facebook ‘like’ and ‘share’ buttons or interactive programs that run on our site). These features may collect your IP address, which pages you visit on our site, and how long for. If you're a member of a social media site, the interfaces may allow the social media site to connect your visits to this site with other personal information. Social media features are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Website. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy statements and policies of the third party providing it. We accept no responsibility for the actions of those third parties.
